This engagement involved serving as a panelist at the Consultation on Faith Leaders & Dynamics of Artificial Intelligence, held at the Desmond Tutu Conference Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, and convening clergy and faith leaders from across Africa.

The consultation explored the risks, opportunities, and ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence from a faith-based and values-driven perspective. Key discussion areas included the use of AI in warfare and cybersecurity, emerging ethical dilemmas, algorithmic power and accountability, and the urgent need for faith-informed governance frameworks to guide responsible AI adoption in Africa.

I contributed insights alongside experts from global and regional institutions, including William Jones (Future of Life Institute), Carringtone Kinyanjui, and Cecil Abungu, emphasizing the importance of aligning technological advancement with human dignity, ethics, and social responsibility.

The engagement underscored the critical role of faith leaders in shaping ethical discourse and public understanding of emerging technologies as part of Africa’s digital transformation journey.
