This engagement comprised a two-phase capacity building programme aimed at strengthening Rongo University’s internal capacity to develop, manage, and sustain modern institutional websites.

The first phase was a two-day hands-on training workshop for the university’s IT staff held on 12–13 October 2024 at Tourist Hotel, Mbita. The workshop focused on foundational and intermediate website development skills, including WordPress-based institutional web architecture, content structuring, UI/UX best practices, website security fundamentals, and sustainable site management for academic environments.

The second phase was a three-day advanced mentorship programme for two designated university webmasters conducted from 19–21 February 2024 at Jumia Hotel, Kisumu. This advanced engagement focused on deepening practical competencies in website administration, performance optimization, security hardening, content workflows, and long-term maintainability of university web platforms.

Together, the two phases ensured both broad team capacity building and specialized technical mastery, supporting Rongo University’s digital visibility, service delivery, and institutional communication goals.
