A global journey through teaching, research, culture and academic collaboration
Travel has become an important thread running through both my personal life and professional development. My journeys across Africa, Europe, Asia and North America have taken me into classrooms, universities, conferences, doctoral schools, internationalisation programmes, consortium meetings, staff exchanges and consultancy assignments — as well as destinations visited simply for the experience of discovering another place and culture.
What began with international classroom teaching gradually developed into doctoral research exposure, conference participation, faculty development, internationalisation training, collaborative European projects, Erasmus+ mobility and institutional partnership building.
Travel therefore represents more than movement between countries for me. It has become part of how I learn, build relationships and understand the different contexts in which education, technology and research operate.

What Travel Has Taught Me
My international journey has evolved alongside my professional career. I first experienced international education from inside a classroom as a Mathematics teacher in the United States. During my doctoral studies, travel opened doors into international research communities. Later journeys took me into faculty development, higher-education internationalisation, international consortia, mobility programmes, and institutional partnership development.
Across Africa, conferences, consultancy and personal travel have kept me connected to the diversity of our own region.
Together, these experiences have taught me that internationalisation is ultimately about more than crossing borders. It is about encountering different ideas, building relationships, learning how institutions work in different contexts, and bringing useful lessons home.
I also travel because I enjoy it. Discovering new places, meeting people and experiencing different cultures keeps curiosity alive — and curiosity remains central to how I approach teaching, research and collaboration.
I welcome opportunities to collaborate with universities, researchers, development partners, and academic networks in areas related to digital learning, artificial intelligence, postgraduate research, faculty development, internationalisation, and institutional transformation.
